Gusset

The gusset is a panel added to make the garment or bag roomier or to reinforce. In a handbag, the gusset is typically the side and bottom of the bag. In garments, the gusset would be inserted to help shape and reinforce key points, like the crotch or underarms.

Jacquard

A type of woven fabric where the pattern is woven or knitted in.

Piping

Piping is a trim or embellishment formed by sewing a thin strip of folded fabric — typically bias binding — into a narrow tube (or “pipe”) and attaching it to the edge of a piece of fabric. Piping is often used to define or reinforce the style lines of a garment or handbag.

Sustainability

Within a business context, sustainability refers to businesses making decisions in terms of environmental, social, human and corporate governance impact for the long term and relates to how a company’s products and services contribute to sustainable development.

Virtual fashion

Virtual fashion is a visual representation of fashion items built using technology and 3D software e.g. to be worn by avatars in online games and meta platforms.

Virtual goods

Intangible objects traded in online communities or marketplaces. Objects are purchased for use in online communities or online games.
